Comments please

I have really enjoyed blogging. It is a new sub culture that I have joined. I find that I really enjoy reading other’s blogs as well. It is a fun way for me to journal about what is going on and to share that with others.

I have a simple little stat counter that tells me how many people come to our blog each day. It is kind of cool to see. This blog is not breaking any records, but there are about 30 people a day that take a look at it.

The thing is, I only have about 25-30 comments from the entire time I have been blogging. I have no idea who is coming to my blog. So, this is my plea to all of you reading my blog. Please leave a comment when you come to my blog. You don’t have to write a book or get philosophical, just make a quick comment on one of the posts that you like (or don’t like). It will be fun to know who my readers are - family, friends, friends of friends and others in the blogging community.

New little Aggie

New little Aggie

I finally posted Katherine’s information to the Aggie Former Student website. Here is the picture I posted. Dad is not crazy about this outfit. She can go to school anywhere she wants, but I will pay for her to go to A&M. Just joking, she can go anywhere but t.u. and I will be happy (that is the university of Texas for those non-Aggies reading this.)

The picture is kind of small but the shirt says, “Thank heaven for little aggies”. The blanket was made by my friend Sandra.

Katherine and Sammy on their hot date

Katherine and Sammy on their hot date

Katherine joined Sammy at his pool for another fun swimming adventure. Nana stopped by because she had never seen Katherine in her swimming suit. Today she wore her sunglasses for the first time as well. Of course we had to take pictures of the cuteness. Sammy even has his arm around Katherine. I am going to have to watch out for him!

My cousin Scooter Skeeters

My cousin Scooter Skeeters

I am so excited. We just found out that Uncle Will and Aunt Jaime are expecting their first baby February 17th. Mom told Uncle Will that I needed a cousin within a year and they are just barely going to make their deadline. I can’t wait to have a cousin in California to visit. We will have so much fun. They are calling the baby “Scooter” for now like mom and dad called me “Pip”.

Hopefully they will start a blog soon so we can all monitor Scooter’s progress.

The gang

The gang

This was another great weekend for hanging out with good friends. I have realized this summer how much I miss some of my close friends who no longer live in the area.

This weekend Regina and Bryan stayed with us while in town for a family engagement party. They got married exactly 4 weeks after us and had their baby girl, Elizabeth exactly 4 weeks after Katherine was born. Pretty cool.

We had a great time hanging out and catching up. On Saturday Kenalea and Chad, who now live in Japan, came over with their new baby, Grayson. The three of us girls were good friends when we were all single. It was fun to hang out with our husbands and babies.

Katherine is really enjoying swimming. I took her up to my friend Jennifer’s parent’s pool. Today was the first time we tried out her new turtle floatie.

Asleep on the job

Asleep on the job

Today I went into work at dad’s office (yes, I do sometimes still go to work:) ). I took Katherine with me which worked pretty well most of the afternoon. I even had her dressed in her “Franklin Templeton Investments” outfit that they sent me when she was born. I was trying really hard to finish everything off and was holding Katherine while printing some things off. Next thing I knew, she was asleep on the job. It is amazing to me that she could fall asleep in this posture. We all got a kick out of how she was holding her toe.

Chillin' at the concert

Chillin' at the concert

Tonight we spent another night at the Arbo (Dallas Arboretum). Mom and dad decided to go to the Cool Thursdays concert to hear a Jimmy Buffet cover band. We got there right as it started but still found a perfect place to set up our blanket in the shade. Mom and dad ate dinner while I took a nap. It was just so relaxing! After I woke up, I watched the concert and listened to the music. I hope we go to some more fun concerts at the Arboretum!

4 generations, Nanny, Grandad, Dad and Katherine

4 generations, Nanny, Grandad, Dad and Katherine

This weekend we went to Wichita Falls to visit Sam’s family. It was a big weekend for Katherine. She met a lot of family members for the first time. She met Ailene, Nanny, Great Uncle Jerry and Great Aunt Kay, second cousin Sara, Great Uncle Craig, Sam’s cousin Brian and a bunch of second cousins. We also saw Great Aunt Glenda and Sam’s cousins Amy and Courtney again.

It was great to see family and for them to all meet Katherine. I look forward to many more visits, especially when she is older and can remember the stories that they tell about when her daddy was growing up.

**On a side note, we have not yet been able to figure out how to have several pictures for one post so the next few pictures are all for this post.
