Reading with my friends

Filed under: Katherine's comments — Christy at 4:40 pm on Friday, August 17, 2007

I love to read. I have a basket of books in every room of the house. My favorite books are the ones about lady bugs and all of the Eric Carle Bear books. I read them over and over again. When my friends Hannah and Sammy were over we read books together on the couch.

Special Visitors

Today I had some special visitors. My Grammy and Grandad came all the way from Wichita Falls to visit ME! They were here all day. We read a lot of books, played with my zoo and played outside. They also enjoyed watching me walk around and play with all my toys. For dinner all of the adults were having pizza and I wanted some so Grandad let me have a bite of crust. It was yummy. Thanks for coming to visit me.

Another special visitor I had today was Daddy! He has been in Mexico for a wedding since Wednesday and I really missed him a lot. He brought me a really cool hand embroidered Mexican dress. He bought the smallest size they had and it is still too big for me but I will wear it next year.

Get well Pops!

Please pray for my Pops. He had heart surgery this week (a bypass and valve replacement) and he is still in the hospital recovering. I went to go see him last night but do not get to go to the hospital a lot. Mommy thinks I am a little too active and into things. It is so exciting up there. All these big rooms with buttons to push and wires to pull. I went for a walk down the hall to visit all the nurses. They were glad that I was there. I also tried to go visit some of the other patients but mommy would not let me. Anyway, Pops will get to go home either Sunday or Monday and then I may get to go visit him again. Please pray for his recovery. It will be hard for him to rest and sit still since he is such an active man.

Happy Birthday Grammy

Today is my Grammy’s birthday. I did not get to see her because she does not live in town. I hope she had a great birthday and that she will come visit me soon. I love you Grammy,

Katherine

ps - Thank you for this cute outfit you gave me for Easter. I really like it.

Happy Birthday Nana!

Filed under: Katherine's comments, Christy's Family — Christy at 3:12 pm on Friday, April 20, 2007

Last weekend was my Nana’s birthday. Nana and Pops picked me up from the church nursery and took me to their house while mommy and daddy worked in the nursery. Mommy wanted me to be able to eat lunch and take a nap. When Mommy and Daddy got to Nana and Pop’s house, I was in fact taking a nap. I did not want to miss out on lunch though so I woke up before they were done.

Nana opened her presents. I gave her three books that had sweaters, hats and ponchos to crochet for Sophia and me.

Mommy and Daddy had a meeting to go to so I stayed and played with Nana and Pops. We read stories and played with my fish. It is so fun. I stick the fishing pole in the fishing bowl and then the fish stick to the pole when I pull it out. Nana is teaching me the colors of all of the fish.

Playgroup

Please let us go outside!

I love my playgroup. Every other week they come over to play. This week Hannah, Evie, Caedmon, Robert and Sammy came to play. It is so fun now that most of us are walking around (not Evie, she is only 4 months old). Today the big hit was my bagel. Everyone wanted some. We played outside because the weather was so pretty. We ran on the grass, played in my igloo tent and swang. I wish I had playgroup everyday.

Daddy, I think it’s time…

to finish baby proofing the cabinet. You locked the bottom cabinet thinking that was the one I could get into. It still opens about 1 inch, barely enough for me to pull out the kitchen towels and pot holders. For some reason you were not thinking that I would stand up and open the second drawer. It is full of so many cool, colorful paper plates, napkins, plastic spoons, forks and KNIVES. I especially love the napkins with rubby duckies on them leftover from Jen’s shower.

Look Dad, I have a knife!

Sophia Marie

From Sophia

My cousin Sophia Marie was born this morning at 7:01am in California. She weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. That is a lot bigger than me. You can see that we look nothing alike. She has dark hair, dark eyes and dark skin. She is so cute! I cannot wait to meet my new cousin.

Where’s Sophia?

Cousin Sophia is still in Aunt Jaime's tummy

Cousin Sophia is still in Aunt Jaime's tummy

My cousin Sophia is going to be born any day now. She is actually not due until Friday but we were so sure she would come early since Aunt Jaime has been having so many contractions and had to go to the hospital twice for them a long time ago. I already have 5 cousins on my dad’s side, but Sophia will be my first cousin on my mom’s side. I can’t wait to go visit her after she arrives. I think I will have to wait a few weeks though.

Baby New Year 2007

Baby New Year 2007

This is my first New Year’s Day. Mom took a picture of me dressed as Baby New Year . She has a picture of her taken as Baby New Year 1973 that she may post later.

On my first New Year, I need to make my first list of New Year’s resolutions so here they are:

1. Learn to walk

2. Sleep all the way through the night consistently.

3. Learn to drink from a sippy cup.

4. Take better naps.

5. Graduate up to my new car seat.

6. Leave the country - I have a passport mom, let’s use it.

7. See my new cousin Scooter a lot after she is born in February.

8. Eat a variety of new foods.

9. Learn to communicate my wants and needs using sign language and words.

10. Have a lot of fun with my friends doing all the fun things in Dallas.
